THEME: Graduation of
Another year you have learned in ways no institution could standardize.
You have loved in defiance of scripts that never held you.
You have survived systems that were never built for your magic.
Let’s celebrate our ability to swim upstream, sideways, backwards.
Because these skills
They are theory embodied.
They are learned in bathrooms and basements,
on dance floors and group chats,
in heartbreak, in healing.
These skills are CV-worthy,
not for others' approval, but for ours.
A portfolio of resistance and imagination.
We will name ourselves graduates of the school of life.
FASHION FREQUENCY
Whimsical goth fairies in collision, future and ancient at once.
Think:
glitter pressed into dirt,
pastels smeared into something feral,
delicate wings with teeth,
silk torn open and safety-pinned back.
And yes,
a graduation hat, if you wish.
U-Haul ~ definition
Stereotype of Lesbian or Bi people who move quickly in a relationship, either emotionally or sexually and/or move in quickly together physically. U-Haul is also a moving company, but that is beside the point!
“They U-Hauled on the second date!“
U-Haul ~ how we see it
A club for all queer people and a request to commit to good vibes, safer party spaces and to revolutionary dancefloors. Marginalized bodies to the center.
Mind the space you take if you attend our party outside of these identities.
COMMON RESPONSIBILITY IS QUEER FREEDOM
We are aiming for safer spaces and we do not tolerate any kind of harassment or discrimination. The event has safer spaces hosts at your service, you can recognize them by U-Haul patches on their clothes.
NO RACISM
NO SEXISM
NO HOMOPHOBIA
NO TRANSPHOBIA
NO ABLEISM
NO FATPHOBIA
Safer spaces rules apply at all times.
ACCESSIBILITY
The accessible entrance is on the Hämeentie side.
At the door you can find security personnel to open the door and assist you.
The accessible toilet is on the first floor next to the coat check.
Any questions about physical entry can be directed to Ravintola Tanner.
Loud music, plenty of people, seating available, outside access available, water for free and safer spaces hosts are there to guide you with anything you need.
ON ARRIVAL
There will be a line for pre-tickets in case there are any other tickets left at the door.
Your best chance of not queuing is to come on time or even early, maybe book a table and come dine before the party.
Get dressed at home or at the toilet, but all big bags and coats must be left at coat check at night.
Safer spaces guidelines will be asked about, make sure you get to know them before entering the space.
Everyone will still be asked to re-enter trough ticket sales, if you are part of the community and you can't afford to join, contact us at @clubuhaul. Leave home sharp items and be mindful of securing your stuff at the coat check, be ready for possible security check.
PHOTOS
At the party there is a photographer, but the back of the bar is a no photos - zone. Your cameras are welcome to document your friends and djs around the dj booth. Consider others in documenting your experience and allow people to enjoy the moment.
Behind the camera you will meet our lovely photographers Kelmi Helmi and Patricia Carlitos.
U-haul is brought to you by
Wekesa, Suinner & Trabelsi.
