Voguing is a dance that arose in the 1970s in Harlem, New York. It was created by young Black and Latinx LGBTIQ+ community. Vogue Femme, the most effeminate style of voguing, was created in the 90s mostly by black and latinx fem queens (trans women and trans femmes).
Voguing is part of the Ballroom culture that forms a safe space where freedom of gender identity and sexuality is allowed and celebrated.
