Frankosun and the Family

Frankosun & The Family on väkevä helsinkiläinen afrobeat-orkesteri, jonka on perustanut voodoon sydänmailla Beninissä syntynyt Oladele Franck Koumolou.
Yhtye yhdistelee 70- ja 80-lukujen beniniläistä ja nigerialaista afrobeatia, afrofunk- ja afrorock-vaikutteita, kaikuja suomalaisesta kansanmusiikista sekä beniniläisen Nago-heimon rytmiikkaa. Frankosun & The Family on valloittanut energisillä esiintymisillään kuulijoiden sydämiä toinen toisensa jälkeen.

Frankosun and the Family is an alliance of African and Finnish musicians combining many styles of music from around the world. The group has been active since 2013 and is based in Helsinki, Finland. The band's music ranges from both intensely rhythmic 70's and 80's Beninese/Nigerian styles of afrobeat to more floating and relaxing afrofunk and afrorock songs.

Frankosun, also known as Franck Koumolou, hails from Benin, the birthplace of Voodoo. Frankosun was born into a Nago-family, a group of people known for their voodoo masks and rhythms influenced by Egoun goun-, Zangbeto-, Guèlède- and Tchango-cultures.
