DJ SHY GRL hosts the r&b show Motions at IDA Helsinki online radio and is part of the FWU collective. As a young girl, she sang along to Mariah Carey and Destiny’s Child. In recent years, she has nourished her soul and dj sets with music by the likes of Kehlani, SZA, and Frank Ocean. Lately she’s been fascinated with the question: what are the characteristics and historical trajectory of the genre called r&b? At hit different, she will explore all of this and more.
